Editorial monthly issues, community prompts, and track challenges
Participate in Mixyt's editorial magazine issues. Learn how to propose theme prompts, submit playlist responses, send track suggestions to peer curators, and review incoming song challenges.
Themes in Mixyt serve as overarching curation prompts—analogous to themed issues of a literary or music journal (e.g., 'Issue 01: Deep Focus', 'Tape Loop Nostalgia').
Themes can be sponsored, editorial staff picks, or community-proposed concepts. If your theme idea is chosen as an official monthly issue, you receive guest curator attribution on the masthead.
Visit /themes to explore active and past issues. Each theme page (/themes/[id]) showcases the editorial prompt, mood notes, sponsor badges, and the community's submitted playlist responses.
Have an evocative prompt or conceptual musical question? Propose it to the editorial pipeline.
Go to /themes/submit and fill in: Theme Title, Atmospheric Description (focus on mood over narrow genre), and your Community Pitch. Submissions are reviewed weekly by our editorial team.
Focus on moods and scenarios rather than strict subgenres so diverse curators (ambient, jazz, electronic, rock) can all contribute unique interpretations.
On any active theme page, click 'Submit Playlist Response' to launch the creator with the theme pre-linked. Public responses stream directly under the theme's showcase feed.
Challenge other curators by suggesting tracks that fit their playlist's mood.
At the bottom of any public playlist story (/playlist/[slug]), find the Challenge the Curator form. Paste a YouTube URL, song title, artist, and write a note explaining why it belongs. The owner receives a dashboard notification.
Check your Dashboard (/dashboard) for Pending Challenges. You can listen to the preview, read the challenger's note, and click Accept to automatically add the song with an attribution badge ('Contributed by @username').
