This Privacy Policy applies to the Mixyt platform (located at mixyt.io and associated domains). It describes what information we collect when you use our web application, how that information is utilized to provide core curation and collaboration features, and the steps we take to protect your rights and privacy.

We collect only the minimum necessary data required to operate a functional, collaborative playlist platform:

Account & Identity

When you register, we collect your email address, chosen username, display name, and a cryptographically salted password hash. You may optionally provide an avatar URL and a public bio.

Curatorial Content

Playlist titles, liner notes, descriptions, track ordering, tags, challenge prompts, collaborator invites, and links to publicly available YouTube videos that you submit.

We do not collect sensitive biometric data, financial payment cards, government identifiers, or precise real-time geolocation.

03How Your Information Is Used

We use your information strictly for the following operational reasons:

Authentication & Account Management: Allowing you to sign in, reset your credentials, and maintain secure sessions.
Curation & Collaboration: Displaying your public playlists, crediting track contributions, facilitating playlist invites, and managing video challenges.
Essential System Notices: Sending critical transactional notifications (such as password resets or important platform security updates). We do not send promotional email campaigns.
Security & Abuse Prevention: Ensuring the platform remains secure from malicious bots, spamming attacks, or disruptive behavior.

04YouTube API Services & Embedded Third-Party Media

Mixyt uses YouTube API Services and embedded YouTube IFrame players to allow users to watch and listen to music videos curated in playlists.

• When you interact with embedded YouTube video players on Mixyt, you are interacting directly with YouTube's infrastructure.

• By using Mixyt, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

• Mixyt does not transmit your personal Mixyt account credentials to YouTube. Any cookies, tracking, or data collection performed by YouTube during video playback is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

05Cookies & Local Storage

Mixyt uses strictly necessary browser cookies and local storage tokens to manage user authentication sessions and preserve your visual preferences (such as light or dark mode). We do not use third-party behavioral advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

06Your Data Rights & Deletion

You maintain control over your content on Mixyt:

Profile & Visibility Settings: You can edit your bio, avatar, and username, or toggle your profile between public and private at any time in Settings.
Playlist Control: You can edit, modify tracks, change visibility (public/private), or permanently delete any playlist you own.
Account Deletion: If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data, you can request full removal by contacting us or managing your account in settings.

07Data Security

We employ industry-standard security safeguards including TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit, cryptographic password hashing, parameterized SQL queries to prevent injection attacks, and strict role-based access controls to safeguard your data.

08Children's Privacy

Mixyt is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable by regional law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will promptly delete such account data.

09Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted here with an updated revision date.
